MedicaNatumin, which has both developed and produced Jabushe, is located in Jönköping, Sweden. MedicaNatumin constantly works to ensure a sustainable mindset. Within MedicaNatumin, there is an awareness of our social responsibility. Our goal is to be able to meet the requirements and wishes of all stakeholders and thereby conduct sustainable business with regard to economic as well as social, ethical and environmental aspects.

Agenda 2030 and MedicaNatumin

On September 25, 2015, the UN General Assembly announced the historic resolution Agenda 2030. The agenda stipulates that all 193 member countries in the UN are committed to working towards a socially, environmentally and economically sustainable world by the year 2030. The agenda holds 17 goals where MedicaNatumin has the opportunity to make a difference.

Our goal is to contribute to a positive health trend and offer improved quality of life through products. Safe products of good quality are guaranteed through long-term work according to international standards and regulations. We are third-party certified according to ISO 13485 for  manufacturing of medical devices, according to ISO 22716 for the manufacturing of cosmetic products, and according to guidelines for Safe food supplements to Consumers.

Good healt and well-being

MedicaNatumin is a proud sponsor of the Zimlat for life education project. The project is conducted outside Mombasa, Kenya, and has since the start in in 1997 given many thousands of poor children schooling, education and good conditions for an independent life. Zimlat for life is a unique project with no political or religious orientation, where every penny goes to the children. We have chosen to contribute to individual girls’ schooling to increase their, as well as their families’, chance of a better life.

Quality Education

MedicaNatumin has an almost completely equal organization in terms of male/female distribution among the employees. Salary survey shows that there is no discrimination in terms of salaries.

Gender Equality

In 2018, a solar power plant with a capacity of 255,000 kWH was installed on the roof of the Habo production plant. Our products are manufactured with energy from 100 % renewable sources now also with a large contribution from the solar power plant. On an annual basis, we contribute to a better environment, by saving CO2 emissions by almost 100 tons, which corresponds to a small forest of about 330 trees.

Affordable Clean Energy

Our employees are an important prerequisite for MedicaNatumin’s success. Many measures are taken to create a great working environment and high levels of wellbeing among our employees. MedicaNatumin should have an organization with clear roles and responsibilities, processes and directives to meet the company’s goals. We will make this possible by taking advantage of and developing the competence in the organization. We want our employees to have a good working environment, both physically, mentally and socially, and therefore we strive to work proactively and attentively to reduce risks in the working environment. Every year we conduct an employee survey where for several years the index have been above 80 out of 100.

Decent work and Economic Growth

MedicaNatumin’s innovation strategy is based on developing unique products based on innovative and sustainable ingredients to promote our priority healthcare areas or address possible new niche areas.

Industry, Innovation and Infrastructure

We monitor our environmental impact and work actively with continuous improvements. This to ensure environmentally friendly handling of chemicals and waste in accordance with environmental legislation, as well as reduce the emissions into air, water and soil in order to minimise negative impact on human health and the environment.

Responsible consumption and production

An important part of our work is to choose sustainably produced ingredients for our products. Palm oil is an important raw material in the manufacture of cosmetic products based on natural content. This raw material has unique features related to texture, taste and aroma. We take active responsibility for our use of palm oil through our membership in The Roundtable of Sustainable Palm Oil (RSPO). RSPO is a non-profit organization with the aim of making sustainably produced palm oil the norm. By supporting sustainable palm oil production, we can help create jobs that help millions of people out of poverty while reducing the negative impact on biodiversity in the tropics that conventional palm cultivation otherwise causes. At the same time as we work actively to increase the proportion of certified palm oil in our purchases, other palm oil-based raw materials we purchase are fully compensated with credits according to RSPO’s model for book-and-claim.

Life on Land

Based on our commitment to be sustainable business, we have established a Code of Conduct to make our position clear to all stakeholders such as suppliers, employees and other relevant parties. Our overall goal is to encourage respect for human rights and workers’ rights and environmental protection both within the company and in cooperation with our external partners. The Code of Conduct contains internationally recognised requirements regarding human rights, workers’ rights and environmental protection. Our suppliers of products and services will comply with the Code of Conduct and we also expect them to ensure that their suppliers in turn do so as well.
